ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Paige Jaeger is an educator, librarian and professional developer having worked at both the elementary and secondary levels. She is the author of three books on Inquiry-Based Learning and sits on the Advisory Board of School Library Connection magazine.
Paige has a passion to get students thinking-wondering-investigating and using new vocabulary acquired in the process. This series was written after watching students research endangered animals and being so surprised--as though they'd never heard of poaching and other travesties causing the "disappearance". There wasn't anyone else she wanted but her good friend, Carol, to illustrate this book inspiring students to be kind to animals and make a difference.
Paige and her husband live in northern New York where they raised their family to love the great outdoors.
ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATOR
Growing up surrounded by the natural beauty of New England inspired Carol to draw. With a perennial gardener for a mother and an artistic craftsman for a father, appreciating nature and art was contagious.
She majored in Fine Art at Union College in Schenectady, New York, and then devoted many years to raising her four children. She returned to art with a focus on pen and ink drawings until a friend requested that Carol illustrate “A Letter from Ginger Boy.” This launched her illustrating career and returned her to watercolors.
In 2016, after reconnecting with her author friend Paige, Carol began illustrating Who Will Roar If I Go. Her work was suddenly interrupted by Lymphoma, twice. Today, she thanks the Lord for the privilege of completing the pages of both book 1 and book 2 and will forever be thankful for the inspiring devotion of her family.
